Construction and fit out of a new extension to the existing college building, including new covered links and internal alterations to the existing Necropsy Building. The facility incorporates animal housing, student and staff change rooms, an operating theatre with 29 tables, preparation areas, a seminar, and offices. Closed-circuit cameras in the theatre allow students to watch surgeries in progress.

 

The works also include extensive alterations and upgrades to existing services, as well as the reconfiguration of car park areas. Students and staff will occupy the existing facilities during the construction period. Noisy work operations had to be coordinated with exam periods.

The two-storey building comprises an in-situ concrete structure, masonry walls, features limestone cladding, and aluminium-framed glazed windows.
